After years of using a few other cameras, I finally saw the light and bought a Kodak. The Z700 is a fantastic camera for the price. Optical zoom was important to me, as was size. While not tiny, this camera fits easily into my purse to capture those spontaneous moments my children provide. Uploading is very easy, even without the docking station and the clairty and resolution of the pictures I've taken is great, particularly with the selection of scenes like beach, party, museum, etc. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone who likes to take pictures of family and friends and make prints to share and frame.Customer Review: Super easy to use camera & printer

Love this camera and printer. The most simply camera and printer to use that I have ever purchased. Wonderful color prints. I have several digital cameras and this is by far my favorite. Great protective coating that is on prints. You can handle the photograph immediately when it is finished printing and it does not harm you photograph. I have had this camera for four gentle-use months, and the battery door and circuitry just gave out, with a repair costing half as much as the camera itself did. The camera takes good pictures and is a good size, but the battery bay on mine has had troubles since I purchased it. Having purchased it from a re-seller here on Amazon, I can't use the warranty and am out the money. Customer Review: Don't buy this camera !

I bought this camera for my wife for her birthday. At first she loved the features and ease of use. But unfortunately in less than a month the camera just died, lost all power .Tried fresh batteries to no avail. When we returned it to the place of purchase we found they no longer carried this model .Big surprise. Being 35mm SLR buffs we decided to upgrade to the next model the Z740 which has full manual controls and features similar to a SLR .We instantly fell in love with this camera but alas , within less than two weeks this camera also died .Same scenario , lost power and fresh batteries didn't help . I've played with digital cameras before but I've always preferred film. My earlier digital cameras were cheap and nasty, but now that prices are falling, I decided to invest in this little gem.
The camera packs a wealth of photo settings to ensure you take the best possible picture and downloading to the PC is a piece of cake. I use my images in Photoshop so I am thankful for the crisp, clear pictures it takes.
I would recommend getting the docking station (which comes with the rechargeable battery pack) unless you want to spend money on batteries. Also, get an additional memory card to give you more storage space.
I would have given the product 5 stars, but I wish the bundled Kodak software would come with "Auto Start" preferences. I don't like programs running in the background so I had to edit my PC startup settings manually to prevent the EasyShare software from booting at Startup.
Aside from that, this camera is money well spent.
